throwing the perfect combinations
double top
nice arrows

in the shed Jackie
is strengthening
the left side of his brain

the mathematics of the nine dart finish
the wrist
the roving eye

the end of that
the darts
have come on a storm

late afternoon
the sun
is a gold watch on a chain
time to open a can

forty winks
the darts
sink into the flesh of the board
the bullseye is a trap

he remembers
the perfection of her face
her shoes
the knuckleduster of her smile

he’s learnt alot since then
is not a game of chance
it’s a whole bunch
of new tricks

  1. A nice portrait of a personality. Cupid’s arrows are in there somewhere too!
