Bathing

Here we trust water,

perhaps remember a time when it was home

from the ocean to the womb,

primeval swamp to tub.

Now expelled as if from Eden we seek

a kind of remission

as the wetness enfolds, its caress

a blessing of aquatic spirit

borne on the currents and eddies

of thought streams placed

in their swirling moment

drawn from the depths of time.
